Naughty Birthday Cake!

For my hubby’s birthday this year I vowed not to bake another Malteser cake, which I know is one of his favourite cakes, however it has been on the birthday baking list now for many years and I felt he needed a change. *Giggle* I don’t think he bargained for such a saucy cake this time around but just a simple sponge and icing or so he thought!.....

I couldn’t help myself when I got creative with the sugarpaste and this is how the nude model came into being. I thought it would put a smile on his face with a lovely leggy blonde lying in wait on a bed for his cake this year..... hahaha. I did think of adding underwear and high heeled shoes to the cake board but time was against me.

The cake was baked in a 30 x 25cm (12 x 10 in) oblong tin using a large Victoria sponge recipe then cut in half and sandwiched together with buttercream and strawberry jam. Covered in fondant icing in the effect of a bed with just a mere drape to leave the model with a little dignity!

I don’t know which was more fun, making the cake or seeing the look on hubby’s face when he saw it *giggle*
