Cupcakes Galore For A Wedding....

Firstly I must apologise to my ‘dear’ blogging friends and readers that I have not posted in a while. I have been feeling a little under the weather in the last few weeks and my doctor is running several tests at the moment to try and get to the source of things. Many thanks for staying by me and you know I love you all!!

I will of course be calling by all my ‘dear’ blogging friends blogs very soon and catching up on all your stunning creations, I am sure I will be drooling my way through as always!!

On a brighter note, some friends of Mr R & I are getting married tomorrow and the bride asked me a few months ago if I would bake some little cupcakes for the buffet. I felt very honoured to be asked and today I ventured into my little kitchen with ideas flowing through my head of what to create. I had brought various little cupcake cases and sprinkles last week ready for the task in hand.

The cupcakes I wanted to make fun for the children’s batch, a theme of brightly coloured icings and sprinkles to lure their magical minds always seems in keeping and a few butterfly cakes to throw into the mix.

The recipe for the adult cupcakes comes from Magnolia Bakery’s Vanilla Cupcakes but I didn’t make the swirls as in Magnolia’s trader mark design, only because I wanted to pipe the icing on for this occasion. I have made these cupcakes before and the sponge is so light like billowing fluffy clouds and dreamy creamy vanilla buttercream icing. For the adult theme, I thought roses for romance and sliver sugar coated hearts for love and little sugar flowers and a few sugar coated golden and silver balls.

My conservatory is filled with the most wonderful smell of vanilla as these little cupcakes sit waiting to be delivered to their destination shortly.

I will be raising my glass of champagne tomorrow to toast the happy couple – care to join in with me?

Thank you all my ‘dear’ friends for your most wonderful comments :D The wedding was lovely and the happy couple looked stunning. The bride wore an ivory wedding dress which was made in Japan and the groom was in a grey suit with a light blue waistcoat and matching cravat as was the bestman. It rained most of the day but as they came out of church the rain stopped and photos were able to be taken. The wedding cake was magnificent with the bride reeling in the groom on a fishing rod lol ... The cupcakes went down a storm and already someone has asked if I would bake a few cupcakes for a christening when need be :D

Many thanks also for all your very kind wishes regarding myself. My blood pressure has been running quite high and my doctor is also wants to take tests on my heart by doing an E.C.G. and quite a few blood tests too. I will of course keep you informed to as how things go.

Best wishes Rosie x

Hi M, the cupcake decorations I used here, the roses I made which are simple from fondant icing just coloured - link posted below on this post. The rest of the cupcake decorations came from Waitrose, Sainsubury's and Asdas supermarkets, as I didn't have time to buy on line this time. I have brought on line from here which I find really helpful and good.
